# Book a slot with a calendar

A skill recipe that finds free slots in your calendar through an MCP tool, books the one the customer picks and schedules a reminder.



This recipe books appointments straight into your calendar. Your MCP tool needs actions to find free slots and create events.

**When to use**: the customer wants to book a service. Needs an [MCP tool](https://ecbot.dev/docs/agents/tools) for your calendar, here "Google Calendar".

## Steps [#steps]

1. **Ask**: the service and the day and time they prefer.
2. **Tool**: Google Calendar, action find\_free\_slots.
3. **Tell**: two or three free slots close to what they asked.
4. **If** the customer picks a slot:
   1. **Ask**: their name and phone number.
   2. **Tool**: Google Calendar, action create\_event.
   3. **Tell**: the booking summary.
   4. **Tool**: Schedule a follow-up, how: "remind them the day before".
5. **Else**:
   1. **Tool**: Hand off to staff.
